The Vehicle to Load System, or V2L, in the Electrified GV70 allows the Genesis to use its high-voltage battery pack to power external devices. Whether charging a laptop at a campsite or powering emergency lighting, the V2L system can easily provide AC power directly from your vehicle.
How Does it Work?
The process is simple and user-friendly. Here’s how you can power your devices with the V2L system:
- Ensure the vehicle is parked and turned off. Make sure all doors are unlocked for easy access.
- Plug your AC device into the bare V2L dongle connector.
- Press and hold the charging door button on the left side of the dashboard or press the external button on the upper right of the charging door to open it.
- Flip open the inner connector cover and then plug the V2L dongle into the charging port.
- Press the button on the top of the dongle to activate the V2L system.
- Once finished, press the button on the top of the dongle to deactivate the V2L system.
- Unlock the doors and then remove the V2L dongle.
- Close the inner cover and then press and hold the charging door button on the left side of the dashboard or press the external button on the upper right of the charging door to close it.
Owners can set a discharge limit in the eGV70's settings to ensure the battery is not drained unnecessarily:
● Press the Home button on the center console to select the Home menu, swipe right and then select EV and then EV Charge Transfer.
● Set the battery discharge limit to ensure the vehicle’s battery doesn’t get too low before automatically cutting off the power supply.
V2L: Possible Uses for Outdoor Adventures and Beyond

● Tailgating: Power up speakers, a mini fridge, or a TV for the ultimate game day setup.
● Worksite: Keep your small tools running smoothly in a remote location without access to an outlet.
● Emergency Power: In case of a power outage, the V2L system can be a lifesaver, keeping essential devices running while waiting for the power to return.
