What is Genesis Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA)?

See a speed sign in your cluster? That’s Intelligent Speed Limit Assist. Here’s how it helps keep you safe.

The Genesis Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, or ISLA, system detects road signs and uses database information from the navigation system to automatically display the current speed limit. This cluster notification gives the driver real-time updates on the speed limit and other vital road signs. It’s a high-tech assistant designed to keep owners informed, prevent speeding, and help drive smarter.

How Does ISLA Work?

Intelligent Speed Limit Assist displays the speed limit in the instrument cluster and can provide additional road sign information such as school zones.

Customize Your Speed Limit Settings: Full Control at Your Fingertips

ISLA settings can be customized to suit personal driving style and preferences. To adjust, press the Setup button and then select Vehicle, Driver Assistance, and then Speed Limit.

●        Speed Limit Warning: This mode alerts the driver if the speed limit is being exceeded by highlighting the speed limit in red.

●        Speed Limit Assist: When using Smart Cruise Control, Speed Limit Assist allows easy, one-button adjustment of the cruising speed, based on the current speed limit and the offset selected.

●        Speed Limit Off: If OFF is selected, the Intelligent Speed Limit Assist feature will be disabled.

The Speed Limit Offset can also be adjusted. The speed limit offset can be set up to 10 miles per hour, positive or negative, in 5 mph increments.

Example:  You are using Smart Cruise Control at 50mph. If the speed limit changes to 40 mph and the speed limit offset is set for -10 mph, Smart Cruise Control will adjust to 30 mph automatically when you hit the minus switch on the steering wheel.

If guests frequently drive in areas with constantly changing speed limits or navigate unfamiliar streets, the Genesis Intelligent Speed Limit Assist feature can help with driver safety and convenience.
