Blending luxurious design with tech-savvy convenience, your Genesis vehicle offers a host of features that are designed to complement the way you like to drive.
Here are five essential tips every Genesis owner should know to get the most out of their vehicle.
1. Setup Bluetooth & Wireless Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™
Genesis vehicles come equipped with Bluetooth audio and call streaming and support for wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, allowing you to access your favorite apps, maps, and music.
How to Connect Your Smartphone:
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
If no phones are registered to your Genesis, press the phone calling button on your steering wheel.
On your phone’s Bluetooth menu, select your Genesis model name and confirm that the pairing codes match.
Choose to allow wireless Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ if prompted.
Once paired, your phone will connect automatically each time you start your Genesis.
2. Use The Multiple Volume Controls
Your Genesis vehicle offers multiple ways to control the volume for entertainment, navigation, and phone calls:
A volume knob can be found in the center console. It will either be a turning knob near the climate controls or a scrolling button near the Home button.
There is a scrolling volume button on the right side of the steering wheel.
Use Dynamic Voice Recognition to adjust volume. Press the voice recognition button to the upper right on the steering wheel and say “raise the radio volume”, “lower the radio volume”, and more. For a full list of voice commands, press the voice recognition button and say “help.”
3. Customize Your Power Liftgate
If your Genesis is a SUV, the standard Power Liftgate adds convenience for loading and unloading with innovative technology that ensures safe operation.
How to Operate:
In-car: Press and hold the liftgate button on the left side of the dashboard.
Smart Keyfob: Press and hold the liftgate button for more than one second.
From outside: Press the button beneath the rear window wiper (doors must be unlocked).
Customization Options:
Customize the opening height: After opening or closing, press the liftgate button once to pause the liftgate at your desired height. Press and hold the close button on the inside of the liftgate for 3 seconds.
Adjust the closing speed: Press the Setup button and then select Vehicle, Door/Liftgate, Power Liftgate Speed, and select Fast or Slow.
4. Hands-free access with Smart Liftgate
Approach the rear of your Genesis SUV with the Smart Keyfob, stand within 3-feet of the rear for 3+ seconds, and the liftgate will open automatically after a chime.
To enable or disable this feature, press the Setup button and then select Vehicle, Door/Liftgate, and then Smart Liftgate.
5. Understanding Auto Hold
The Auto Hold feature keeps your Genesis fully stationary when you lift your foot off of the brake pedal with the vehicle’s gear selector in Drive (D).
Auto Hold is enabled by default from the factory.
To disable, press and hold the Auto Hold button for 3-seconds until the light turns off. If Auto Hold is disabled, your Genesis will slowly move forward when in Drive and your foot is off the brake pedal.
To enable, press the Auto Hold button.
