When you’re behind the wheel of your 2026 GV70 or Electrified GV70, no drive is ever the same as the last. Whether inclement weather has set in, you’re simply on your daily commute, or you’re off the beaten path on an off-road adventure, your Genesis is ready to adapt with its variety of Drive Modes.
The various Drive Mode settings in your GV70 allow it to provide different levels of power output, drive, and throttle sensitivity to balance grip, response, and driving range.
Drive Modes
Located on the center console, the Drive Mode button lets guests toggle between the various drive modes that alter the vehicle’s behavior. The Drive Mode button can also be pressed down to switch to Terrain Mode and then toggled up or down to switch between various off-road drive modes.
1. Eco Mode
● In Eco Mode, the vehicle limits maximum power output and switches to two-wheel drive to enhance energy efficiency. It automatically adjusts to AWD when road conditions get slippery or temperatures drop.
Eco mode optimizes fuel economy or EV range by reducing energy consumption, setting the climate control to Eco, and providing a smoother, more relaxed driving experience. It automatically adapts when it detects road conditions like snow or ice, ensuring you remain safe and efficient.
2. Comfort Mode
● What It Does: Comfort Mode automatically switches between two-wheel drive (2WD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) modes, depending on road conditions, to provide a seamless driving experience.
In Comfort Mode, the 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 switch between 2WD and AWD for the best performance based on the road’s traction and provide a higher balance of power output versus Eco Mode.
3. Sport Mode
● Sport Mode enhances the vehicle’s performance by tightening the steering and handling, improving motor response, and using all-wheel drive for enhanced traction.
Sport Mode amplifies the power and response, providing a sporty but firm ride. However, Sport Mode can reduce the driving range, as it prioritizes performance over efficiency.
4. My Drive Mode
● My Drive Mode selects a custom drive mode, which can be preset in the infotainment settings screen.
Selecting the My drive mode activates a custom drive mode, which uses a driver defined set of settings. To set the settings for the My drive mode, press the Setup button and then select Vehicle, Drive Mode, and then My Drive Mode.
5. Multi Terrain Mode
● Multi Terrain Mode allows selection of a variety of drive modes optimized for off-road and inclement weather driving. These all-wheel drive modes provide maximum stability over low grip surfaces.
Press the drive mode button to enter into Multi Terrain Mode. Next, toggle the switch to select between Snow, Mud, and Sand drive modes. These drive modes are optimized for their respective surfaces and selecting any of them will also provide a confirmation message on the infotainment screen.
