How to Operate the Genesis Power Liftgate

From Inside the Vehicle

●        Open/close button location: On the left side of the dashboard.

●        To open: Press and hold the button (engine on or off, vehicle in Park).

●        To pause while opening or closing: Press the button once to pause the liftgate.

Using the Smart Keyfob

●        To open/close: Press and hold the Power Liftgate button for over one second.

●        To pause while opening or closing: Press the same button once to pause movement.

From Outside the Vehicle

●        Button Location: Below the rear window wiper on the outside of the liftgate.

●        To open, close, or pause while moving: Press the button once when the doors are unlocked.

Customizing the Power Liftgate

Tailor your liftgate with these adjustable settings:

1. Opening Height
   • Pause/Stop the liftgate manually at the desired height.
   • Press and hold the open/close button on the inside of the liftgate for 3+ seconds.
   • Alternatively, go to: Setup > Vehicle > Door/Liftgate > Power Liftgate Opening Height to select between preset height settings.
2. Opening Speed
   • Choose between FAST or SLOW in the infotainment system: Setup > Vehicle > Door/Liftgate > Power Liftgate Speed.

Hands-Free Smart Liftgate

Smart Liftgate is the easiest, automatic method to open your liftgate upon approach. With the Smart Keyfob in your possession, approach your vehicle’s rear liftgate. Stand within 3-feet of the rear of the vehicle, for more than 3-seconds, and the hazard lights will flash and you will hear a series of six chimes. After this, the liftgate will open automatically.

If you change your mind and don’t want the liftgate to open, simply walk away during the chiming period and the liftgate won’t automatically open.

How to Enable or Disable Smart Liftgate

1. To enable or disable the feature, visit: SETUP > VEHICLE > DOOR/LIFTGATE > SMART LIFTGATE.
2. Smart Liftgate is turned off from the factory, to prevent accidental activation, so enable it first if you’d like to give it a try.
